La Pietà is a long-term care facility housing over 150 people. The staff would like to adapt and beautify the outdoor gardens to optimize their use by staff and residents.
The current courtyard layout is more than 30 years old, and needs refreshing. The edges of the flowerbeds have shifted over the years and currently pose a risk of injury to users. The planters are broken and plants have overgrown some areas.
Access to the outdoor courtyard is a benefit to residents and relatives just as much as it is for the staff. The courtyard is a haven of quiet and relaxation, but it can also provide a space for parties, such as barbecues or family gatherings.
In addition to these uses, the facility would like to develop the courtyard to accommodate gardening activities for residents with a green thumb.
