Multimedia room at the "Maison de l'apprenti" (Youth Protection Branch)

Last February, the Gatineau Health Foundation was at the Maison de l’Apprenti for the inauguration of the brand new multimedia room created with funding from the Foundation, in partnership with the Fondation québécoise pour les jeunes contrevenants.

The Maison de l’Apprenti is a closed delinquency rehabilitation centre managed by the Youth Protection Branch of the CISSS de l’Outaouais. As part of the rehabilitation process there, the facility’s staff helps youths understand why their actions are inappropriate, uncover the deeper motives behind their actions, and find more appropriate ways to deal with them. The staff also helps teenagers acquire the skills needed to navigate the various resources available to them.

The multimedia room will be a valuable resource for staff and clients alike, offering increased access to critical educational and interactive material while also encouraging fruitful exchanges.
