Oak Housing Project

The generosity of donors has enabled the Foundation to contribute $250,000 to the construction of a supervised rental property for clients suffering from mental health issues.

Habitations Nouveau Départ provides housing to beneficiaries living with
a severe and persistent mental health disorder, an intellectual disability or a pervasive developmental disorder.

The construction of 8 high-quality, affordable, studio-style housing units will help residents exercise real power over their own lives, take responsibility and assume psychological, social and financial responsibility.

The Home Support Program is a fund that benefits families and individuals dealing with particular hardships or a situational crisis.

2020 Youth Funds

The Gatineau Health Foundation is also doing its share to support a number of programs tailored to the diverse needs of young people in rehabilitation centres or foster families, as well as other children requiring a follow-up by the Youth Protection Branch.

13th Mental Health Conference

In the fall of 2019, the Gatineau Health Foundation helped the CISSS de l’Outaouais and its Centre de formation en santé mentale de l’Outaouais (CFSMO) organize their 13th Mental Health Conference.

Our contribution made it possible to fully furnish the housing units and provide the necessary equipment for the staff.

Home injury and trauma prevention kits are distributed annually.

EMOTIONAL SUPPORT DOG - Brao

In 2019, the Foundation’s contribution enabled the Youth Protection Branch (YPB) to acquire Brao, an emotional support dog trained by the Mira Foundation, to provide support and comfort to children and teenagers going through stressful or anxiety-inducing situations.
