Positioning Aids

The cancer centre currently has 3 linear accelerators to carry out radiotherapy cancer treatments.

These devices can accommodate a wide range of accessories to treat different types of cancer on different parts of the body. For instance, positioning aids are crucial tools that can help patients who need to adopt very specific postures and remain motionless throughout their radiotherapy treatment.

Positioning aids make it easier to keep the patient immobile, and purchasing new aids allows the use of new cancer treatment techniques.

The acquisition of these new positioning aids has a great impact on patients in our region:

New radiotherapy techniques for treating cancer;

Better patient care and fewer transfers to other regions;

Reduced discomfort and stress for patients who have to maintain an uncomfortable position for relatively long periods of time;

More effective treatments and fewer side effects.
