La Pietà is a long-term care facility housing over 150 people. These improvements will allow residents to enjoy some outdoors rest, socializing and gardening activities as a way to maintain their autonomy.
The Outaouais CHSLD would like to add to their equipment fleet a ventilatory assistance device for residents needing this type of care. Currently, all sheltered persons requiring this type of care are referred to a residence in Ontario, incurring a fee of $900 per day for the RAMQ. Otherwise, these people must be hospitalized for an indefinite period.
The purchase of this equipment will keep residents in their living environment and avoid the transfer of patients to Ontario.
