Soft Media and Soft Report Acquisition
In order to streamline the process, the CISSS de l’Outaouais wants to acquire two specialized software suites designed for laboratory information management. SoftMedia is a state-of-the-art system for storing digital clinical data.
Blood Sample Analyzers
Each year, the Gatineau and Hull hospitals’ laboratories perform more than 70,000 analytical procedures on blood products to determine blood groups, verify the presence of antibodies, ensure pregnancy follow-ups, and more.
PacVision – Medication bag verification devices
PacVision units, medication bag verification devices based on pill recognition technology that can significantly enhance quality control and patient safety.
Upgrading the Diamic software
To help the technical staff and reduce waiting time for patients, the CISSS de l’Outaouais must upgrade the existing software to add specialized modules for specimen traceability, macroscopy assistance, telepathology and management.
Purchase of an automated hematology slide-maker/stainer
This machine can automatically colour blood samples for analysis, standardize the process, reduce human error and improve result quality.
Acquisition of a free light chain analyzer
Serum free light chain testing is essential for diagnosing and monitoring multiple myeloma.
Women’s health, molecular analyzer and liquid-based pap test
Faced with this challenge, the laboratory management team at CISSS de l’Outaouais has devised a pioneering solution: a complete cervical cancer screening system using liquid-based Pap tests (ThinPrep).

In tomosynthesis, a mobile X-ray tube is used to take a series of pictures and generate a three-dimensional image of the mammary gland.

Interior design that feels like home can help create a stimulating and pleasant living environment and relieve loneliness by encouraging users to gather in common areas.

Thanks to the four newly acquired chairs, more residents can benefit from appropriate hygiene care and the staff can enjoy a safer working environment.

Development of the Outer Courtyard at the Freeman Youth Rehabilitation Centre
For these young people with needs, the Freeman Youth Rehabilitation Centre is a full-fledged living environment – that is why the Centre’s team of specialists, through various intervention strategies, tries to normalize their daily lives there.

Thanks to mammography and the breast cancer surgery program, we can offer innovative care to women with breast cancer to help them regain their physical and psychological well-being.
Pediatric Ophthalmic Surgery
they can now access specialized pediatric care directly in Gatineau.
Intermediate Care Development Project
In collaboration with the Daniel Brière Foundation, we contributed to redesigning the work space, adding three intermediate care beds and acquiring new specialized equipment.
Qube Bedside Monitors for Pediatric Resuscitation
Thanks to the collaboration of the Outaouais’s McDonald’s restaurants and the funds raised through McHappy Day, the Gatineau Health Foundation was able to finance the purchase of new Qube bedside monitors for pediatric resuscitation at the CISSS de l’Outaouais.
Specialized Equipment for Pediatrics
This year, the Foundation partnered with Opération Enfant Soleil to fund various projects in pediatric and youth services, allowing the purchase of various specialized equipment.
Technical Feasibility Study: Hybrid Room and Neurosurgery Room
As part of its efforts to carry out two major projects designed to improve the Hull Hospital’s surgery capacity, the Gatineau Health Foundation contributed to the funding of a study on the technical feasibility of building Hybrid Room and Neurosurgery Room.
Revision of the food offer and purchase of moulds for the preparation of textured food preparation
Funding provided by the Foundation was instrumental in the purchase of vital equipment for this project, such as rethermalizer carts for meal distribution, a cooling chamber, quick freezers and other equipment for the preparation of meals at the production centre.
An Ergometer for the Pneumology Clinic
Thanks to its new ergometer, the pneumology clinic will be able to administer cardiopulmonary effort tests and deliver better diagnostics, especially for patients with lung cancer
Motorized Stand-up Lift
The Gatineau Health Foundation has helped fund the purchase of a motorized stand-up lift.
Reusable water bottles
Since recently, all patients at the Cancer Centre receive a reusable water bottle, courtesy of the Gatineau Health Foundation.

Since common areas are the main gathering places in CHSLDs, they play a major role in the daily lives of residents.

The CHSLD Ernest-Brisson wanted to improve the decoration of a bathing room for residents with cognitive disorders, a clientele for whom bath time can sometimes be stressful.
