Mrs. Josée Filion gathered with partners and donors on Wednesday, September 29, for a recognition event that was held in honour of the participants of the Marche en Rose Outaouais and Cyclotour Santé Outaouais events.
Over the course of the evening, attendants celebrated the accomplishments of the participants and teams who raised an astounding $355,322, including $109,409 for the Marche en Rose campaign and $245,913 for the Cyclotour Santé Outaouais campaign. We will proudly donate these amounts to the Gatineau Cancer Centre in order to fund important projects for people living with cancer in the region.
The success of this fundraiser was also made possible by the exceptional collaboration of our committed partners, who offered matching donations to participants and pushed them to exceed their fundraising goal: Caisses Desjardins de l’Outaouais donated $15,000, Club Piscine de Gatineau donated $25,000 and Mr. Paul-André Charbonneau donated $100,000. Thanks to all of you!
During the recognition event, we were thrilled to announce the return to a face-to-face format on the weekend of 9-10 July 2022.
To maximize our impact for the fight against cancer in the region this year, we propose to unite Marche en Rose and Cyclotour Santé Outaouais participants in a larger, unified campaign called “Outaouais Against Cancer”. Together, we will continue raising funds to finance projects for the Cancer Centre, as well as projects specifically related to breast cancer.
