This project provides immigrant parents with informational and prevention-focused material on the proper ways to interact with children so as to avoid reports to the Youth Protection Branch. The information package mainly consists of images and pictograms specifically designed to overcome the language barrier, and includes a list of different resources in the region as well as intervention tools.

The Home Support Program is a fund that benefits families and individuals dealing with particular hardships or a situational crisis.

2020 Youth Funds

The Gatineau Health Foundation is also doing its share to support a number of programs tailored to the diverse needs of young people in rehabilitation centres or foster families, as well as other children requiring a follow-up by the Youth Protection Branch.

13th Mental Health Conference

In the fall of 2019, the Gatineau Health Foundation helped the CISSS de l’Outaouais and its Centre de formation en santé mentale de l’Outaouais (CFSMO) organize their 13th Mental Health Conference.

EMOTIONAL SUPPORT DOG - Brao

In 2019, the Foundation’s contribution enabled the Youth Protection Branch (YPB) to acquire Brao, an emotional support dog trained by the Mira Foundation, to provide support and comfort to children and teenagers going through stressful or anxiety-inducing situations.
