Youth Funds
The Gatineau Health Foundation is also doing its share to support a number of programs tailored to the diverse needs of young people in rehabilitation centres or foster families, as well as other children requiring a follow-up by the Youth Protection Branch.
Development of the Outer Courtyard at the Freeman Youth Rehabilitation Centre
For these young people with needs, the Freeman Youth Rehabilitation Centre is a full-fledged living environment – that is why the Centre’s team of specialists, through various intervention strategies, tries to normalize their daily lives there.

Mental Health Care Path for 6- to 18-Year-Olds
• Ensure better care for children with mental health problems (by calling on the right people at the right time and leveraging inter-professional collaboration with the involved stakeholders).
Blood Sample Analyzers
Each year, the Gatineau and Hull hospitals’ laboratories perform more than 70,000 analytical procedures on blood products to determine blood groups, verify the presence of antibodies, ensure pregnancy follow-ups, and more.

Fund for Autism
Thanks to Mr. Dormani’s donation, the Foundation has set up a fund to help families with children with an autism spectrum disorder.
EMOTIONAL SUPPORT DOG – Brao
In 2019, the Foundation’s contribution enabled the Youth Protection Branch (YPB) to acquire Brao, an emotional support dog trained by the Mira Foundation, to provide support and comfort to children and teenagers going through stressful or anxiety-inducing situations.
Freeman Residence
This project will add two new residences tailored to the needs of youth receiving rehabilitation services in an open environment.
Safety kits for the sippe program
Home injury and trauma prevention kits are distributed annually.
Pediatric Ophthalmic Surgery
they can now access specialized pediatric care directly in Gatineau.
Intermediate Care Development Project
In collaboration with the Daniel Brière Foundation, we contributed to redesigning the work space, adding three intermediate care beds and acquiring new specialized equipment.
Qube Bedside Monitors for Pediatric Resuscitation
Thanks to the collaboration of the Outaouais’s McDonald’s restaurants and the funds raised through McHappy Day, the Gatineau Health Foundation was able to finance the purchase of new Qube bedside monitors for pediatric resuscitation at the CISSS de l’Outaouais.
Specialized Equipment for Pediatrics
This year, the Foundation partnered with Opération Enfant Soleil to fund various projects in pediatric and youth services, allowing the purchase of various specialized equipment.
